How It Started
Fundamentally was born out of frustration. Our founder, David Black, spent years tracking his crypto portfolio with the same tools everyone else used and kept running into the same problem: none of them helped him invest better.
Every crypto tracker out there simply shows you what you own and how much it's worth. That's useful, but it doesn't help you answer the questions that actually matter: Why do you own this? How confident are you in it? Is your position size appropriate for your conviction level?
David's passion for Fundamental Analysis, the practice of evaluating investments based on their underlying value rather than price speculation, left him wanting more. He needed a tool that could account for conviction. A tool that would help him align his portfolio with his investment thesis.
I built Fundamentally for myself first. I used it privately for over a year before realizing this was something the market sorely needed. Every investor deserves tools that help them invest with discipline, not just track prices.
